Skytrex Adventure @ Taman Pertanian, Shah Alam (15 Nov 2008)

Have you experienced before a different kind of jungle trekking where you can move from a tree to another tree without touching the ground? If you love adventure and never have such experience like a Tarzan moving from a tree to another tree by swinging, gliding, walking, clambering and climbing, then you cannot miss this opportunities which is currently available in Malaysia - the Skytrex Adventure!

Last Saturday, a group of us with 12 persons (4 guys, 8 gals) were challenging ourselves with this Skytrex Adventure which is located in Taman Pertanian, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. 11 of us successfully to complete the whole adventure which took about 2 hours and 1 of us used the chicken exit at the half way to escape. The fee for an Adult is RM35 per pax. We got 10% discount as our group had more than 10 pax. Maximum number of pax allowed in a group is 50 pax. The fee including the locker and the safety equipment rental, except gloves which cost RM1 per pair.

The challenge that we experienced is called 'Big Thrill'. It has 23 trails from easy to diffulty level with the maximum height 17m from the ground. The trails including flying fox, zig-zagging, 'The Earthquake', 'Happy Hopper', etc. The flying fox is the most fun and exciting part. The whole challenge requires usage of both hands to hold on the pully and cables when walking, swinging, gliding and clambering. Luckily we rented the gloves; if not, most of us might have bruises on hands after finishing the challenge. This high rope course is very safe. It really helped to overcome our fear of heights.

After completed of our mission, we drove to Klang to eat Bak Kut Teh. All of us were enjoying the challenge very much. Thanks Alain, Liu Qiang, Winnie, Theresa, Fion and Coreen for getting friends and family to join this challenge and making it an unforgetful adventure trip to everyone. :)

For more information, you can visit Skytrex Adventure website http://www.skytrex-adventure.com. You can also download the flyer of Skytrex Adventure here.

Sepang Gold Coast (26 Oct 2008)

The weather was so good these few days. So Boon decided to go to Sepang Gold Coast to take photography. We was trying to make our way there yesterday evening, but we couldn't find the correct way. So we try again today by studying properly the road map to reach Sepang Gold Coast. We came across to Sepang Gold Coast from our friends' wedding photos where one of the series of their wedding photos was took place at Sepang Gold Coast.

We departed from home in Setapak, KL about 5pm. The roads we took to reach Sepang Gold Coast are:
1) We took the road of KL-Seremban Highway (which is continued on North-South Highway) and passed thru Sg. Besi Toll to collect the toll ticket.
2) Then we took the exit of E215 which is towards Nilai.
3) After turning left into E215, about 700m there is a toll where we paid for the toll fee cost RM4.70.
4) About 600m after the toll, there is a traffic light. Turn right.
5) Go straight all the way and will pass thru 2 roundabouts. Take 12 o'clock direction at both roundabouts.
6) After the 2nd roundabout, keep left. About 800m, take the exit onto B20 and take the ramp to B48.
7) About 400m, turn left at B48.
8) Follow the direction board of Sepang or Sepang Gold Coast (if you see it) to drive and you can reach the destination easily.

We actually referred to Google Map but the Google Map wasn't updated. Anyway, the direction boards are quite easy to follow.

We reached there before 7pm and we were able to catch up with the sunset view. It was so beautiful! The sunset scenery was matching with its name 'Gold Coast'. Everything under the sun - the sand, the sea, the rocks were in gold colour. It was really a breath-taking scenery there!

We were there until the sky fell dark. We then found a place to sit down and enjoy our curry rice cook by Boon's mom which we packed from home before we depart. Hehe... So enjoyed! We left about 8pm with an unforgetable experience there.

Travel to Phuket Island (17 - 20 Jul 2008)

Traveled Duration: 4D3N
Traveled From: 17 July 2008, Air Asia Flight at 12.45pm (Malaysia Time)
Flight Duration: 1 hour 15 mins
Traveled Until: 20 July 2008, Air Asia Flight at 4.10pm (Thailand Time – 1 hour behinds Malaysia Time)
Transport to travel around Phuket: Rented a Honda Wave 200cc motorbike with the price 800baht which is about RM80 for 4 days
Accommodation in Phuket: The Orchid & Spa Hotel at Kalim Bay (Budget Hotel)
Weather: Mostly raining (not the right time to travel to Phuket in July)

Day 1

  • Rode from Phuket International Airport to Kalim Bay
    - Took an hour to arrive the hotel
  • Checked in to the hotel at 4pm
  • Rode to Phuket Town for dinner
    - The town wasn’t as what we thought in our mind (a very ‘hot’ town). We had our dinner at one of the restaurants which we saw there were quite a number of people having dinner there. We found that communication was a problem when ordering our food. The restaurant's workers did not understand English and we did not know Thai. =.=" Anyway, we still able to get food to eat, but the food of the restaurant that we went was quite expensive with small portion and oily. What a bad dinner experience!

Day 2

  • Went to Kalim Bay for photo shooting
  • Went to Patong Beach (the most happening and most crowded place in Phuket Island, especially at the night)
    - Patong beach is a long beach. Along the beach, there are a lot of parking space for cars and motorcycles. What a nice and well-structured beach!
  • Second round breakfast at McDonalds (first round breakfast at the hotel) because it was raining. The price of the meals in McDonalds there was slightly higher than in Malaysia.
  • Visitng the largest shopping mall in Phuket named Jungceylon. It has 4 different zones:
    - Zone 1: Silang Boulevard - food court, massage, botiques, sport complex, Thai art & handicraft shop and cafes.
    - Zone 2: The Port - Featuring Jungceylon Water Fountain in an outdoor section where the Chinese Junk Boat and the Musical Fountain light show performances are held every night.
    - Zone 3: Sino Phuket - A lot of stalls selling clothes and ladies accessories. There are restaurants, cafes and an archery center.
    - Zone 4: Phuket Square - Carrefour is the anchor tenant. There is Robinson Department Store as well.
  • Visiting Karon Beach
    - Karon Beach is a very long beach. There are a lot of beach accommodation, guesthouses, restaurants, street food, open air go go bars and Karon massage parlors. Besides Patong, Karon is famous with its nightlife too.
  • Visiting Chalong Bay at the South East of Phuket Island
    - We spent about 40 minutes to arrive Chalong Bay from Karon Beach. As it was raining, so we settled down at the Pavilion. There was a hawker on her motorcycle selling fried noodles. Since we did not take our lunch, Boon then ordered 1 set of fried noodle from her. The hawker had a very good business there. A lot of people bought the food from her. The fried noodle only cost about RM4 and it was in a very big portion for 2 persons. Damn cheap if comparing with KL's fried noodle and it tasted very nice. Yummy yummy!
    - After finished the fried noodle, we walked out to the bay to take photos. We saw there was few mini buses carried the passengers. Those passengers were back from diving or island hopping. After some photographing, we left Chalong Bay.
  • Visiting Wat Chalong, the biggest, the most famous and the most important Buddhist Temple in Phuket Island.
    - It was raining, but there were a lot of visitors. We saw some prayers set off the fire crackers in a beehive-shaped oven in front of the temple. I read from the online article that it is to show the gratitude for prayers that have been answered. Since we were there, so I also made my prayer there.
    - Inside the main hall of the temple, there were a few people kneeling on the floor and praying with the red wooden blocks made from bamboo roots and shaped like twin half of a mango. This is used to ask a question and get the answer 'yes' or 'no' from the buddhist's god. Some people were praying using the bamboo chopsticks in can to ask for fortune. I did that too and I got a good fortune as said in the paper. I hope it's true to me. I'm praying...
  • Went back to Karon Beach to catch up the sunset view.
  • Went back to Kalim Beach for evening view of photos shooting.
  • Went back to hotel for bathing
  • Went to Patong Town for dinner at a restaurant named OK Restaurant. The boss could speak mandarin and he recommended us food to order.
  • After dinner, we walked around the Patong Town to see the night life there.

Day 3

  • Photo shooting at Kalim Bay
  • Visiting Kathu Waterfall
    - A very quiet waterfall, less visitors.
  • Visiting Rang Hill, Phuket Town view point
  • Walked around Phuket Town
  • Lunch at N.C. Kitchen, Phuket Town
  • Body massage at one of the massage shop in Phuket Town
  • Visiting Rwai Beach for some photo shooting
  • Visiting Phrom Thep Cape, Phuket’s famous sunset view
    - There is a saying that "No trip to Phuket would be complete without viewing the breathtaking panoramic vista from the southern tip of the island".
    - We were so lucky as the weather of our Day 3's trip was so pretty! We did not miss the breathtaking sunset view in Phuket. It was the best place I had visited in Phuket.
  • Dinner at The Pizza Company, Patong Town

Day 4

  • Visiting the Boat Lagoon
  • Went to Tesco to buy some local food to bring back to Kuala Lumpur
    - Having some food at Tesco's food court
  • Checkout out from the hotel at 12pm
  • Rode (with heavy luggage) to Surin Beach
    - There were a few hawkers. We bought some food to try there.
  • Rode to airport to return the motorcycle and to take flight to come back to Kuala Lumpur

Boon's Birthday Celebration at Rakuzen (13 Jul 2008)

Boon's good friends, Hon Wooi and Kah Yen, and I were celebrated Boon's birthday at Rakuzen Restaurant on 13th July 2008, which was a Sunday where only Sunday Rakuzen at Chulan Square offers Eat-All-You-Can lunch from 12noon to 3pm with the price RM55++ per pax (adult).

It was a different style of buffet where we ordered according to the menu and they made it fresh for us to eat. The food served in small portion according to the head count but you can re-order if you want to have some more.

Besides the food that we took photos of, we also had
- Fried chicken
- Grilled chicken
- Teppanyaki beef & chicken
- Stir-fried vegetables
- Garlic fried rice
- Steamed egg
- Fried soft shell crab
- Assorted tempura
- Mixed makimono
- Sashimi salad
- Seasoned baby octopus

The variety of food may be less than other Japanese buffet restaurants but the environment of the restaurant, the food taste and the food freshness are worth for eating there. Thanks, Hon Wooi for recommended us to have lunch at a such nice place.

Thing's Working Trip to Manila (4 - 8 June 2008)

My company NextVIEW Sdn Bhd organized 4th ASEAN Rubber Conference (ARC) at Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila from 5th to 7th June 2008. It was the second time I involved in this conference for the conference registration. I would like to congratulate my colleagues for their hard work in making the conference success. We won the challenge once again this year. Cheers!

On 4th June 2008, I took Air Asia flight at 7.20am together with my another 7 colleagues to Manila. The flight took about 4 hours to reach Clark Airport. From Clark Airport, we took cab (Toyota Innova) for another 2 hours to reach our conference venue at Manila. The journey cost 2970 Peso, which was about RM237.60. It was a long and tiring journey!

Once we reached Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila, we took a short snap at the Business Centre which was temporary used as our conference secretariat room while waiting for the rest of my colleagues arrived. Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila is a Five Stars hotel. It was my first time to stay in a Five Stars hotel. I really appreciated the chance that my company gave me. :-P

The day before our event was a very busy day. We had to stay late night to setup the conference venue. My registration team members helped me on checking the participant name tags and the gala dinner invitation cards to make sure they were prepared correctly. I needed to make sure my registration system had zero error to be used for the 3 days conference registration. We were tension because we worried if any minor mistake happened which could affect the conference process. Anyway, we finally made it a successful event. Cheers for all! (Please visit our event website to view the photos taken during the event: http://www.aseanrubberconference.com/2008/photo_gallery.php)

After finishing the event, we were invited by our Co-Organizer chairman's assistant for a dinner. We called him Dandy. He is a very nice 'father' to us. He brought us to one of their famous shopping mall known as Greenhills Mall (http://www.greenhills.com.ph/) for dinner. The restaurant that we went was Gerry's Grill (http://www.gerrysgrill.com/ph/main.php?go=branch&show=greenhills). As being told by my colleague, Philippines has no halal food. Pork is their favorite dish and mango shake is their well-known drink. After the dinner, Dandy brought us to the only donuts shop in Manila called Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. He asked us to choose our favorite donuts to bring back to the hotel. What a kind man!

On sunday which was our last day in Manila, my company arranged a city tour for us to travel around the Manila city as our flight to back to Kuala Lumpur was at night. The city tour was arranged by our event's Official Tour Partner, Happy Travel & Tours Corporation. I couldn't remember much the places that we had been brought around during the city tour. :p I could only remember that we dropped by Mananzan Handicrafts shop in front of Fort Santiago to buy some handicrafts and souvenirs. Then we dropped by Tutuban Mall which is a bargain shopping centre. On the way to Tutuban Mall, we passed thru the China Town and the tour guide told us that most of the chinese in China Town doesn't have a home. They sleep at the roadside anywhere. What a bad life to them? After that we were dropped by at Greenhills Mall to have our lunch and some shopping at the bargain baazar in the mall which is known as V-mall. Honestly, we found that the prices of the handicrafts and souvenirs selling in V-mall are much cheaper than Mananzan Handicrafts shop.

After finishing shopping at Greenhills Mall, we took cab to go back to our hotel. Due to our checkout time was extended to 5pm, we had additional time to shop at the Robinson's Galleria next to my hotel. There, we found their local famous pearl products (necklace, earrings, etc) which are cheap and nice. We bought our dinner at Jollibee, the most famous fast food restaurant in Philippines. I bought 5 chicken burgers and 5 sausage burgers, it cost Php400 (which is about RM32) with a free beef burger and a free ice-cream. Cheap, isn't it? :p

We departed to the Manila International Airport from our hotel at 5pm with 3 free hotel van transfers as we had 18 persons of us. We took Cebu Pacific airlines at 8.55pm to go back to Kuala Lumpur. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed for an hour. OMG! We reached KL after 1am and I reached home after 2am. The next day I took leave to rest at home.

Hiking at Bukit Tabur, Taman Melawati (18 May 2008)

My friend introduced me to a good hiking destination - Bukit Tabur, which is located at Taman Melawati, nearby the Zoo Negara. From the photos he shown me, this Bukit Tabur has a very beatiful and scenic view of KL city and large lake view, as well as the Klang Dam view. Being attracted by it, Boon & I decided to go for this adventure. We came across this website for information about Bukit Tabur: http://munkeatho.multiply.com/journal/item/7 Thanks for the author for giving us such informative and helpful guides to get to the destination easily.

We spent about 4 hours to climb up and down from Bukit Tabur. We did not reach the peak of Bukit Tabur as the sky started to look darker. We decided to go back to the starting point before raining. Yet, we felt that it was worth for this adventure hiking as we abled to catch the sunrise view and clear weather for photography.

Tanjung Harapan, Klang (17 May 2008)

Boon was planning to take photograph on fishing village. The ideal place in his mind is Klang. So we drove from home to Klang about 4pm to look for any fish village for photographing. As we were not familiar with Klang area, so we headed toward Port Klang. We saw a sign board named "Medan Selera Ikan Bakar" and was thinking if it's nearby the fish village. Then we came to this place known as Tanjung Harapan which is next to Northport. We saw a lot of cars and people there. So we parked our car at the roadside and went down from the car to see if there is any beautiful scenery.

Wow! What a beautiful sunset view here! It was almost 7pm and we could catch up a breathtaking sunset view at this Tanjung Harapan. Boon quickly took out his gadgets to start shooting on this beautiful scenery. It was a windy place for relaxation although there was too many crows making noise. I saw a lot of families were there and most of them went to the "Medan Selera Ikan Bakar" for dinner. The restaurant was crowded with people.

Although our target was not the sunset view but fish village, we would still happy with our discovery this time. This discovery was open my eyes as it was my first time to see large cargo ships at the port.

Working Trip to USA (30 March - 14 Apr 2008)

It was quite a long time didn't have a chance to travel oversea for so far. I still remembered the last time I had a long flight to Accra, Ghana (stayed there for 2 months) during work in my first company, Infopro. Even it was quite a long time ago (more than 3year already); I still remembered the journey as that's the first flight in my life some more had to travel so far alone. The flight departure at midnight, 2 or 3am, I took the LRT and exchanged KLIA Express at KL Central and reached to KLIA by 12am... Opps… this post should be about US trip perhaps I should have another post for Ghana, perhaps... Anyway, it was a good experience to flight and stay in Accra...

OK... Why do I have such a good chance to US? Thanks to my company, Wappsol Solutions, which work exclusively for a US company, SchoolDude.com, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, a company that providing web services and major market on Schools and colleges. 7 colleagues were invited to attend their Annual Big Event, DudeU Event (where conferences, seminars and lab training and etc activities will be organized by SchoolDude just for their value clients http://schooldude.typepad.com/sdu/ ) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We going to have opportunity to meet & deal the clients. And, also work together with the US team colleagues as well. The trip was about 2 weeks. At first, heard that only 5 persons were invited to US, after some times 2 more are invited for the trip due to some changed, at the end, I was invited also, I felt so surprised since I just joined this company for few months at the time they invite… Anyway, I just accepted the offer as I understand that US visa is not easy to get, at least for a normal worker, unless you have very strong financial profile to support you else the immigrant might think you intend to illegally working or even illegally immigrate to US. I still remember the time I was interviewed by the immigrant and be treated me so due to the answer and information given by my previous colleagues not tally with me since we have no proper communicated before interview. I remember he said “Our job is to make sure no one illegally immigrate or working in US. You know, everyday there are so many people trying their luck to get the visa to go US, my job is to catch those people…” by the time he said so, he looked at the people sitting behind me, even not very loud but his voice was clear enough to be listened by them. I understood, that is fact, they are many Malaysian trying to work illegally in other country even immigrated… but, I never thought of that at the point even now (eee… not so sure for future…) Can’t he just go and check or tell me that if my document not enough to support or to convince? That’s should their jobs, right? Anyway, some immigrant are just nice, some colleagues just passed the interview so easy. I’m always the unlucky one… hahahaha….

Most of my colleagues already set some expectation to have a crazy shopping there since the electronic gadget (iPod) and branded product such as Nike, Levi’s and etc are very cheap there compare to Malaysia. I didn’t set any expectation for the trip, just wonder took the chance to explore myself. Ya, it was a good experience also. I did explore something. People there are friendly and nice and the state (everywhere I been) also very clean not like Malaysia, felt so shame, people look educated and polite but like to little everywhere and no manner and selfish especially on the road. I believe some of the reasons are due to the “clever” governor & “strict” officers... Malaysia will be better if everyone really play their role and responsible to himself, family, friends and country. Do you love Malaysia? What contribution have you done to your country? I might have no contribution to the country for now but at least I trying to not spoilt our country… If you are not going to love your country yourself, who will going to?? Ooo.. out of topic again…

7 of us were separated into 2 groups, first group (4 persons) will be departure on Friday whereas the second group (3 persons) will take the flight on Sunday, I was in the Second group. My flight was from KLIA to Los Angela and will transit at TaoYuan (Taipei, Taiwan), then take another flight to Atlanta then only to Raleigh. The total flight time is about 21+ hours (whole journey about 30+ hours). It was long and boring in flight since there were only 3 things u can do: sleep, eat and watch movies… Lucky, there were some transits in between where we can have some walk on the airport and take a look around the airport and the shops there as well. Not much things we can see in the airport during the flight to US since most of the time we transit is either midnight or in early morning most of the shops were not opened. Among the airport that we been, I think Atlanta Airport are more impressed me since it is not large but huge and the airport look new. There are few concourse (A-D and T http://www.atlanta-airport.com/Default.asp?url=sublevels/terminal/termmap.htm ), each of the concourse look like a long and big corridor, you can see plenty shops a long the concourse. There is a big corridor connected each other at the middle of the concourses and underground there is a train for you to transit from 1 concourse to another. Train there are really punctual, in each station you can see a display board showing the time of train that arriving, it is count in second, by the time you see 0 second the train door will just open. This is amazing, just wonder why Malaysia Public transport so lousy and many terrible buses still on the road. If Malaysia public transport can be improved until this level and the network is broad enough, I believe there will no JAM in KL. No one willing to JAM few hours in traffic everyday somehow we have to. Those “governors” will never understand since they have traffic police open the way for them…

We reached Raleigh on Monday early morning, our Department Head, Lynn, already waiting there before we reached. After collected our luggage, she drove us to the Hotel and let us to have some break and shower. During the noon, we went to the SchoolDude office to meet the 1st group ppl and then we went to a restaurant for lunch. Can’t recall what restaurant name, but it is different from what expectation since most the restaurant I knew from movie are either fastfood or set by set but here the foods were served like our mixed rice in Malaysia, where various foods are placing on a long counter and there were some staffs serving you, you just have to pick then they will pour for you and all the soft drink & sweet tea were refillable. Time by time, the waitress will walk around and refill for you once they saw your glass almost empty. One culture you should aware when you in US, there is no service tax charged in your bill but you should pay the service tips (10% average service and 15% for excellent service). This not only apply to restaurants (except fast food restaurant since you need to tidy up table and throw the paper bags yourself, I like this culture hope Malaysia can imply it) but every servicing fields, even cab, we took a cab to airport at the last day we going back, the driver asking for 15% services tax even he didn’t serve us, we picking/loading the luggage ourselves. I not really agreed with this but we paid for it at the end not because this is their culture but also to not shame Malaysian face. We are not stingy but just wonder don’t this should be their job scope? In Malaysia, there is a service tax charge apply and it is fixed not based on the level of services you provide, and i think the reason to have this tax is to cover the cost for operation or to pay the workers. I admit that the way giving tips can improve the quality of services of the servant. Perhaps I’m wrong, look back to Malaysia waiters or promoter, it is hard to have a good service even just a smiling face also hard to see, especially government department not only muka masam and some will scold you. Just wonder Japanese's culture might be better…

After lunch, we went back to the office and start work. SchoolDude’s Office is big and great, there are few pantries, meeting rooms, conference rooms and printing area with full of equipment such as microwave, coffee machine, freezer, etc… the more nice thing is everyone have their own room… no wonder awarded with one of “The Best Place to work”. The weather here was cold but not too cold. Just like at Genting Highland or a bit colder some times. The environment and scene here are nice, plenty of trees (even some trees are different colors) and flowers. Traffics here are good even during working hour or after working hour. Not like in Malaysia, hazes and jam, jam, jam… But, the area is lack of public transport, there is no LRT or not much busses or even cabs you can see on the road (most are highway). You can see most of people here driving their own and most mini van, MPV, 4 wheels drive kind of big cars… A bit disappointed since I can’t travel my own, it is unlikely to walk out myself since out of the Hotel area, there was highway which need to walk for 15 minutes then able to see few shops, and you won’t see much tall shopping complex like Time Square or Mid Valley. I would say here more like a rural life style… emmm something like Langkawi, but of course the road, infrastructure and the building including the houses are much much better than those Langkawi kampung rumah. One thing you will notice that almost every house have their own yard and there is no gate/wall surrounding, there are peace and safe where in Malaysia, even a small flat also might need to have few stainless steel door/windows gate and with few locks to keep your property and your family to be safe. We are just hopeless with our government and policemen.

There are some activities planned by US team just for us, we had some team lunches and diners together with different departments, play bowling, shopping & etc... Unfortunately, I miss out most of activities since my position is different from them (they all are PM which doing coding and I’m IT Admin doing Support). I joined Meech, John and some CSC (Customer Services Centre) team member down to South Carolina at the morning for loading the equipment and setup for the DudeU. It is about 3+ hours to reach Myrtle Beach from Raleigh office. About noon time, we reach in Myrtle Beach ( I was told that Myrtle Beach are well-known in golf course training, ya, I saw lot golf court there), some how the track still not yet reach, hence we had lunch at a fastfood restaurant, Bojanglos, you can see many different fastfood restaurant everywhere, most I saw will be Burger’s King, Wendy’s and Bojanglo… After the lunch, they went to wal-mart for some drinks and stuffs for the next few days in the hotel room. After that we went back to hotel (Kingston Plantation - www.kingstonplantation.com ), We check-in the room and put our staffs into our own room. The hotel is look like a village resort with different kind of room styles/themes. It is really nice place to have vacation the room there are full with facilities, not only the spoon & fork or kettle but even freezer, washing machine, dryer machine, plate washing machine & DVD player also, but only some rooms have wireless internet access.

We took about few hours to unload the equipments and setup the demo servers in the training lab, around 7pm, we decided to go for diner, and they decided to have diner at a restaurant called Hooters ( http://www.hooters.com/), the environment of the restaurant is not bad and there are only waitress with sexy uniform (single with short pant) . They told me that the selling point. I and 2 colleagues had ordered 50 pieces of spicy wings), to me it was not that spicy and noticed that in there, spicy is not that spicy like the samba in Malaysia, spicy with some sweet, but their spicy is little spicy with sour. And seldom see chilli sauce in restaurant there also but tomato sauce.

Next day, I woke up early at 7am and went to the training Lab to continue the setup. At night, we went to a western food restaurant called T-Bonz, it is a nice place also and the food there is nice and not that expensive... too bad that I didn’t take any photo there. During the DudeU event I was standby at the IT booth at the corner of the Training Lab, time by time, I stand up on the chair and take our my camera to practice some shooting since this will be a first time shooting for and event. Try to catch the best moment if possible. Some how, my view have just limited since there is a big hall a bit far from my area (I had to use zoom lens to ) and the viewable angle is limited, my skill was not so well and have to standing on a chair which not so stable to stand on, hence only able to took few “ok” photos. During the days in Myrtle Beach, we have some Laser Tag, and visit to Ripley’s Aquarium. I had sacrificed a diner event to grasp a chance to walk around the area and shopping. I went out from 5+pm and went back to the hotel room around 11+pm. I bought pair of shoes for myself and girlfriend and some shirts for my sisters and sister-in-law. The shoes there are really cheap compare to Malaysia, USD20+ can get a pair of Adidas/Nike shoes.

After the event, we back to Raleigh and work as normal. We went to a place called Downtown to have lunch, that place look like KL city (of course is clean than KL 10000X ) where you can see lot of high building surround (that’s the place I wonder to at least I can walk alone myself), some how we didn’t have chance to walk around since during lunch hour. I only able to take some photos there and after lunch back to work again. At the last day work in US, I was joined my colleague, Andrew, to a Fitness Centre for Basketball game during the lunch time (skip my lunch again) Cool… there are 2 indoor full basketball courts and with few hundred of basketballs there ready for use. O no, in Malaysia, the larger fitness center (California) that we joined, there is only a half basketball court (smaller than a standard basketball court), not only outdoor but build outside the building and some more under the staircase and air-con must be very careful when playing not only beware of the staircase but also beware of the ball fall down to the highway (since just few steps distance and not gate cover) hai…. kns… Ya, it is nice game playing with them even I was not performing on that day. Thanks to Andrew!

On the last day noon time, we look so busy at the hotel lobby while waiting for someone to pick us to airport, 3 of us look so busy, busy taking the photos before we left. Hahaha….. We wait till no mood to take photos (after few hours shooting), we are been forgotten, forgotten that we (3 of us) are still in Raleigh. It is ok for us, we felt so guilty to her also as she took all of us travel to work, hotel, shopping and diner and many places also during the whole 2 weeks. At the end, we called a cab to take us to airport and we spent sometime in airport to walk around and take photos. Beware, some of the restaurant or place you can’t simply take photos as they might claimed that you offence the copyright of their idea of design. There are some photos took during the airport as well. Enjoys viewing!!!

Birthday Celebration @Elcerdo (20 Feb 2008)

On Monday, my "family members" in my company were asking me for a dinner on yesterday to celebrate my birthday which will be on this coming Friday. They finally decided to have dinner at a pork food restaurant, Elcerdo - nose to tail eating at Werner's place.(http://www.elcerdokl.com/).

My friend told me that the owner of this restaurant is a Malaysian lady and her husband is an Austrian. This restaurant served Spanish and German styled food. The area of the restaurant provided jorkey parking at RM10.

The food that we ate were as below which were recommended by the supervisor of the restaurant:

1. Lentil & Vegetable Soup with German Sausage served with bread

2. Jamón Serrano from Spain - Imported High Quality Spanish Cred & Air Dried Ham served on Rock Melon and Salad with Balsamico Dressing

3. Pan Fried Goat Cheese wrapped in Jamon Serrano - Coated in Bread crumbs and fried in Butter & Olive oil served on Salad with Honey & Balsamico Dressing

4. Oven Baked and Smoked Pork Shoulder served with Ravioli and Mushroom Sauce

5. ROASTED SUCKLING PIG “COCHINILLO AL ESTILO SEGOVIANO”
Half Piglet served with Bacon Potato,Winter Vegetable and Mustard & Beer Sauce
Because I was the birthday girl, I was requested to use a small plate to chop the half piglet into portions and then I needed to break the plate for luck and love. This is the culture from Spanish. This was our first time to experience their culture.

6. EL CERDO SPECIAL 22% A delectable Digestive consists of `Spirit, Wine and Juices’

My colleague bought me a strawberry birthday cake. After finished our food, my colleagues requested the waiter to serve the cake for me. The restaurant was playing a special mixed birthday song and the waiter was bringing out the birthday cake with a fireworks on it. Everyone were singing me the birthday song. I was so surprised for having a special birthday cake presentation. I was requested to make a wish before I blowing off the candle. One of the waitress told me that the piglet toy was a gift for me in which I need to put it together with me everyday as it will help me to make my wish come true. Putting together with the cake were 7 cups of "Elcerdo Special " wine.

I was happy for having an unforgetable birthday celebration with my colleagues. It was the most expensive birthday dinner that I ever have. The total charges on the bill was RM500++.

The environment of the restaurant was nice and comfortable. The waiters and the waitresses were friendly and helpful. But the food was a little bit salty to us Asian people and costly.

佛光山东禅寺 Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple (17 Feb 2008)

Star Live Concert 2007 (22 Dec 2007)
