Star Live Concert 2007 (22 Dec 2007)

Choy Har's Wedding Day (2 Dec 2007)

It was Boon's friends, Choy Har & Hon Kiat's wedding day. Boon was attended to witness their wedding event from Choy Har's house to Hon Kiat's house and to their own house. Boon brought the DSLR camera with him to learn to shoot wedding photographs. He said that the red canopy at Hon Kiat's house was hard to take photos. Nevetheless, I think that his photography skill has been improved. Anyway, he needs to practice more on photography.

Here share with you some photos he shot during the wedding event and the wedding dinner.

Eye on Malaysia (11 Nov 2007)

"Eye on Malaysia" - the world's largest portable wheel which is 60m height located above the Titiwangsa Lake. Although it has been opened to the public since this year February, we only planned to visit it recently. We are a bit outdated, aren't we? :-p But I believe there are a number of people haven’t visited this "Eye on Malaysia".

Anyway, you still have few months time to plan your visit there. I know some people might say that this "Eye on Malaysia" has nothing special. But I think at least you should go there at night, especially during Friday and Saturday night to watch the crowd attracted to experience the ride on this giant ferry wheel and to experience the watersky spectacular show which runs daily at 9pm.

In my opinion, this watersky spectacular show is running quite good and I think you shouldn't miss it. Unfortunately, the gondolas are badly maintained. Half of the gondolas, the lights on their bodies are not functioning. This really gives a large bad impact on the photos shot on it. =_=” I really hope the related department which is in charged of this "Eye on Malaysia" can fix the lighting problem. This really spoil the photos taken and spoil our country's image to the visitors as well.

Although the sky was drizzling that night, Titiwangsa was still crowded with students, families and couples, and Boon was still enjoying his photo shooting (using tripod). :-P Below are some good shots by Boon to share with you.

Visiting Hulu Langat Look Out Point (Menara Tinjau) (10 Nov 2007)

My colleague, Collen, she introduced this Look Out Point to my other colleagues and I. From her blog (Chinese version)http://shiuanandkomei.blogspot.com/2007/10/nganga.html, the photos she took from the Look Out Point were so beautiful. Thus, I told Boon about this place and we planned to find the way to this Lookout Point. First time we tried to go there was last month, but we weren't able to find the correct way there. Finally, last Saturday we were able to get there and it was after a heavy rain in KL.

We reached the Look Out Point entrance was about 9.45pm. I saw there were a lot of cars driving upwards to the Look Out Point via the entrance. I was thinking why Boon didn't know about this place since he was born in KL. =_=" The road to the Look Out Point was a bit narrow due to the cars were parking on both side of the road. Anyway, we were abled to find a parking space at the car park in front of the cafes and restaurant. There has 1 cafe in the middle of another 2 restaurants. The restaurant at the left hand side which is the nearest to the staircase to reach the Look Out Point was the most happening restaurant. It was crowded with people.

We went to the Look Out Point first. There was a lot of people: groups of friends, couples and families. Wow! The night was so amazing! The night scene was so beautiful as the sky was so clear. We went there at the right time. :-P Don't jealous. Hehe... Nowadays it is hard can get a clear night view in Malaysia. The Twin Towers and the KL Tower were so outstanding. We even could see the Genting Highlands from the Look Out Point and there was fireworks everywhere in KL.

Although the night scene was so beautiful, it was hard to catch with a normal digital camera. I tried few times with my digital camera with normal mode and night mode, the photos looked blur especially using night mode. Too bad! Luckily Boon used DSLR camera with tripod and he was able to shoot nice photos, but due to people kept coming and leaving the Look Out Point, the tower which was built from planks was shaking most of the time, so a lot of photos are shaking too.

We spent about 2 hours taking photos at the Look Out Point then only went to the most happenings restaurant to try the food there. The restaurant was playing HK singer, Justin's Concert VCD when we went there. We ordered hot chocolate, hot coffee, chicken chop, fried shumai and french fries which cost about RM40. The drinks and food tasted good, but the french fries were a bit salty for me. :-P

As a conclusion, this Look Out Point is a nice place for gathering or birthday celebration. So don't miss it out!

Travel Around Singapore (3 - 5 Nov 2007)

Before you start your journey in Singapore, you should get yourself an EZ-Link card which can be used for taking MRT and buses in Singapore where the MRT and buses are very convenient to reach most of the places of interest in Singapore.

I actually went to Singapore on 1st Nov for working as my company's Headquarter is in Singapore. I went there by taking Aeroline bus from the Corus Hotel. Boon went to Singapore on 3rd Nov which was a Saturday for accompanying me and at the same time for travelling as well. :-P He went there by taking Konsortium bus from Pudu Raya, Kuala Lumpur. The bus reached a place called Golden Mile in Singapore.

In this period we were in Singapore, we tried different food at different places and we explored to new things too. Honestly, the food in Singapore not really nice or perhaps we haven't able to find any nice food to eat. :-P What we realized was Singapore is a very safe country compared to Malaysia and we like its MRT system. We really don't understand why Malaysia cannot implement the LRT system as Singapore did?

Sunset View at Harbourfront
Take North East Line (Purple Line) MRT to Harbourfront station. Follow the signboard to Vivo City. Take the escalator to the highest level of the Vivo City which is an open air park. From there you can see the view of the harbour, cable cars and Sentosa Island.
Night View at Clarke Quay Riverside
Take North East Line (Purple Line) MRT to Clarke Quay station. Follow the signboard to Boat Quay and River Quay. Clarke Quay is a very happening place. It's located at a beautiful river side. It has Reverse Bungy Jump game, restaurants on the boat, pubs and bars, ect. My colleague introduced me to a pub named "1 Nite Stand" where it has the best band in the city known as "Six in the City". I quite enjoyed their performance.
Chinatown Indian TempleChinatown Market
Take North East Line (Purple Line) MRT to Chinatown station. Chinatown (Niu Che Shui) has many shopping centres and food courts. You can enjoy eating in Chinatown. As its name, Chinatown has a lot of China style buildings. If you walked around the Chinatown, you can see there is an Indian Temple and a small mosque named Masjid Jamae. Next to the Indian Temple is Chinatown Market which is similar with Kuala Lumpur's Petaling Street. There is a Singapore Tourism Centre in the middle of the market where we got some flyers about Singapore there.

Take East West Line (Green Line) MRT to Chinese Garden station. As from its name, Chinese Garden is a garden with Chinese traditional style buildings, statues, bonsaic garden, fish pool and lakes.
Singapore Night SafariCreatures of the Night Show Team
Singapore Night Safari opens daily from 7pm to 12am. We took North South Line (Red Line) MRT to Choa Chu Kang station and take bus service 927 to reach Night Safari. Then we took bus service 138 from Night Safari to Ang Mo Kio MRT station. You can visit the Singapore Night Safari Website at http://www.nightsafari.com.sg/ for more information.

Others Photos Taken
I was working on 5th Nov, Monday. So Boon was alone travelling in Singapore that day to take photos around. The day was hot. He got minor sick after whole day travelling in the city. Poor him! The next day, we took Konsortium bus from Golden Mile back to Kuala Lumpur.
