Birthday Celebration @Hakka Republic (20 Feb 2009)
My colleagues in NextVIEW treated me for a birthday celebration dinner at Hakka Republic Wine Bar which is located on the second floor of Menara Hap Seng at Jalan P. Ramlee, Kuala Lumpur. Although the restaurant name is Hakka, but it doesn't serve chinese food but western food. It has a story for the name of the restaurant. If you were to dine in there, you may look for the General Manager, Mr. Arby Leong, he would be glad to tell you the story of the restaurant. :)
The variety of the food there is not much but the food is quite nice and the service is extremely good. We were being served for complimentary desserts for testing.
Thanks Alain for organizing a such nice birthday dinner for me. Thanks Fion for the Secret Recipe's chocolate cake. Thanks Alain, Fion, Liu Qiang, Theresa, Winnie and Lau for treating me the dinner. Love you guys so much :*

Boon's Birthday Celebration at Rakuzen (13 Jul 2008)
Boon's good friends, Hon Wooi and Kah Yen, and I were celebrated Boon's birthday at Rakuzen Restaurant on 13th July 2008, which was a Sunday where only Sunday Rakuzen at Chulan Square offers Eat-All-You-Can lunch from 12noon to 3pm with the price RM55++ per pax (adult).
It was a different style of buffet where we ordered according to the menu and they made it fresh for us to eat. The food served in small portion according to the head count but you can re-order if you want to have some more.
Besides the food that we took photos of, we also had
- Fried chicken
- Grilled chicken
- Teppanyaki beef & chicken
- Stir-fried vegetables
- Garlic fried rice
- Steamed egg
- Fried soft shell crab
- Assorted tempura
- Mixed makimono
- Sashimi salad
- Seasoned baby octopus
The variety of food may be less than other Japanese buffet restaurants but the environment of the restaurant, the food taste and the food freshness are worth for eating there. Thanks, Hon Wooi for recommended us to have lunch at a such nice place.

Birthday Celebration @Elcerdo (20 Feb 2008)
On Monday, my "family members" in my company were asking me for a dinner on yesterday to celebrate my birthday which will be on this coming Friday. They finally decided to have dinner at a pork food restaurant, Elcerdo - nose to tail eating at Werner's place.(http://www.elcerdokl.com/). My friend told me that the owner of this restaurant is a Malaysian lady and her husband is an Austrian. This restaurant served Spanish and German styled food. The area of the restaurant provided jorkey parking at RM10. |
The food that we ate were as below which were recommended by the supervisor of the restaurant: |
1. Lentil & Vegetable Soup with German Sausage served with bread |
2. Jamón Serrano from Spain - Imported High Quality Spanish Cred & Air Dried Ham served on Rock Melon and Salad with Balsamico Dressing |
3. Pan Fried Goat Cheese wrapped in Jamon Serrano - Coated in Bread crumbs and fried in Butter & Olive oil served on Salad with Honey & Balsamico Dressing |
4. Oven Baked and Smoked Pork Shoulder served with Ravioli and Mushroom Sauce |
5. ROASTED SUCKLING PIG “COCHINILLO AL ESTILO SEGOVIANO” Half Piglet served with Bacon Potato,Winter Vegetable and Mustard & Beer Sauce |
Because I was the birthday girl, I was requested to use a small plate to chop the half piglet into portions and then I needed to break the plate for luck and love. This is the culture from Spanish. This was our first time to experience their culture. |
6. EL CERDO SPECIAL 22% A delectable Digestive consists of `Spirit, Wine and Juices’ My colleague bought me a strawberry birthday cake. After finished our food, my colleagues requested the waiter to serve the cake for me. The restaurant was playing a special mixed birthday song and the waiter was bringing out the birthday cake with a fireworks on it. Everyone were singing me the birthday song. I was so surprised for having a special birthday cake presentation. I was requested to make a wish before I blowing off the candle. One of the waitress told me that the piglet toy was a gift for me in which I need to put it together with me everyday as it will help me to make my wish come true. Putting together with the cake were 7 cups of "Elcerdo Special " wine. |

I was happy for having an unforgetable birthday celebration with my colleagues. It was the most expensive birthday dinner that I ever have. The total charges on the bill was RM500++. The environment of the restaurant was nice and comfortable. The waiters and the waitresses were friendly and helpful. But the food was a little bit salty to us Asian people and costly. |

Visiting Hulu Langat Look Out Point (Menara Tinjau) (10 Nov 2007)
My colleague, Collen, she introduced this Look Out Point to my other colleagues and I. From her blog (Chinese version)http://shiuanandkomei.blogspot.com/2007/10/nganga.html, the photos she took from the Look Out Point were so beautiful. Thus, I told Boon about this place and we planned to find the way to this Lookout Point. First time we tried to go there was last month, but we weren't able to find the correct way there. Finally, last Saturday we were able to get there and it was after a heavy rain in KL. We reached the Look Out Point entrance was about 9.45pm. I saw there were a lot of cars driving upwards to the Look Out Point via the entrance. I was thinking why Boon didn't know about this place since he was born in KL. =_=" The road to the Look Out Point was a bit narrow due to the cars were parking on both side of the road. Anyway, we were abled to find a parking space at the car park in front of the cafes and restaurant. There has 1 cafe in the middle of another 2 restaurants. The restaurant at the left hand side which is the nearest to the staircase to reach the Look Out Point was the most happening restaurant. It was crowded with people. We went to the Look Out Point first. There was a lot of people: groups of friends, couples and families. Wow! The night was so amazing! The night scene was so beautiful as the sky was so clear. We went there at the right time. :-P Don't jealous. Hehe... Nowadays it is hard can get a clear night view in Malaysia. The Twin Towers and the KL Tower were so outstanding. We even could see the Genting Highlands from the Look Out Point and there was fireworks everywhere in KL. Although the night scene was so beautiful, it was hard to catch with a normal digital camera. I tried few times with my digital camera with normal mode and night mode, the photos looked blur especially using night mode. Too bad! Luckily Boon used DSLR camera with tripod and he was able to shoot nice photos, but due to people kept coming and leaving the Look Out Point, the tower which was built from planks was shaking most of the time, so a lot of photos are shaking too. We spent about 2 hours taking photos at the Look Out Point then only went to the most happenings restaurant to try the food there. The restaurant was playing HK singer, Justin's Concert VCD when we went there. We ordered hot chocolate, hot coffee, chicken chop, fried shumai and french fries which cost about RM40. The drinks and food tasted good, but the french fries were a bit salty for me. :-P As a conclusion, this Look Out Point is a nice place for gathering or birthday celebration. So don't miss it out! | ||||||||||||
